The Blues is alive and well at 34th Street, New York city
I saw this pair as I was going to catch the A-train a couple of weeks back.
(And I can’t help adding that I saw Duke Ellington’s orchestra play Take the A Train when I was much younger).
My video is not exactly what you’d call professional. I just took my phone out and pointed as people went by.
These two guys play for hours at that spot – and they are good, as the man standing next to me pointed out with some fervour towards the end of my little clip. I have seen a lot of musicians, including BB King and Albert King, and these gentlemen would not disgrace themselves in any company.
It is – for me anyhow – little surprises like catching them which make life worth living.
I don’t know what you’re all doing but in two days I go to France where my friend Chris is trying to persuade me to ski after a twenty odd year break … and I was no good even then
I hope you all have a great Christmas. I will try to do better next year. I hope you do too.
3 minutes 45 seconds and just two people put money in their pot.
If you make 5 $ – which was my contribution – every three minutes or so, you’re doing OK. $100 an hour
I use to read every blog now I seldom do..it’s not that I think any less of your wisdom but since you switched blogs sometime ago the emails that come in look awful … I still click on some but not nearly as many I can send you some screen shots if you like
best
aw
We have been trying to sort this out, which is all to do with Apple, I believe
I hope you put plenty in their tin
Sounds great, I bet the acoustics were great in the subway.
