Wine-lovers’ cartoon found in “The Oldie”

‘The difference? Well Sir, the Barolo is ripe, rich and round, with lots of spicy, earth-scented black cherry and berry flavors, hinting deliciously at chocolate on the smooth finish, while The Blue Nun is more nylon underpants, skid-marks, ITV, thick crockery, hinting at being kicked all over the street by violent witless oafs for absolutely no reason.’

  1. Drayton – great cartoon!

It says in just a picture and caption what the long wine marketing essay on my blog takes a thousand words to explain.

That’s how well good humour can work.

The Brits now have so many wine connoisseurs – in every colour supplement. We must be fast catching up.

And the French don’t even have a word for connoisseur.

  2. If anyone is interested, Meininger’s International Wine Guide has just published a long piece by me about wine marketing.

Owzabout providing a link, you slothful sod.

  4. That’s downloads at the end. The wretched machine cut the end off.
