Bloody immigrants, stealing our jobs and living on welfare.

Have you seen this? If so, did it make your blood boil? Did you then check the facts?

As someone who is working as hard as ever at 76, this e-mail from my sister in law got my attention.

It is a chain email to be forwarded to the Prime Minister.

It is something that started in Australia about 5 years ago and has been going round the world ever since. It reads in part:

The British Government provides the following financial assistance:-

 BRITISH OLD AGED PENSIONER

(bearing in mind they worked  hard and paid their Income Tax andNational  Insurance contributions to the British Government all their working life)

Weekly  allowance: £106.00?

IMMIGRANTS/REFUGEES LIVING IN  BRITAIN

(No Income Tax and National Insurance contribution whatsoever)

Weekly  allowance: £250.00

 BRITISH OLD AGED PENSIONER

 Weekly Spouse  Allowance: £25.00?

 ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS/REFUGEES LIVING IN BRITAIN

Weekly Spouse  Allowance: £225.00

 BRITISH OLD  AGED PENSIONER

Additional  Weekly Hardship Allowance: £0.00?

 ILLEGAL  IMMIGRANTS/REFUGEES LIVING IN BRITAIN

Additional  Weekly Hardship Allowance: £100.00

A British old age pensioner is no less hard up than an illegal immigrant/refugee yet receives  nothing.

BRITISH OLD  AGED PENSIONER TOTAL YEARLY  BENEFIT £6,000?

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS/REFUGEES LIVING IN BRITAIN

TOTAL YEARLY  BENEFIT: £29,900

This is a pack of lies, as anyone who searches on the internet for the facts can discover.

By law illegal immigrants are not entitled to any benefits. None. Zero.

What is true is that some manage to come up with reasons to fear they will be subjected to persecution – asylum seekers.

And it is also true that some of these people are maniacal zealots from Muslim countries, mass murderers from Africa or criminals from the Balkans.

Worse still,  they sometimes wangle spectacular payments from what one can only assume are idiot bureaucrats, with predictable publicity – and rage from you and me.

Not to mention shame, embarrassment and fear on the part of ordinary Muslims and Africans.

It is also true that we are a country of immigrants; and that immigrants contribute more than they cost.

If you’re not sure about this read http://www.adamsmith.org/blog/welfare-pensions/bloody-immigrants-coming-over-here-and-paying-our-bills.

That is from a right-wing think tank, and covers not just what may be good about immigration, but also what is bad about welfare.

There is also something rotten about a system that allows preachers (or anyone else) to encourage young people to kill in the name of religion – and is so lax that nothing is done.

But that is another subject.

    Dear Drayton,
As you surely agree- there is a piece of truth in every lie.
As a Balkans’ inhabitant I have a feeling that is realistic to say that your country legislation is not the best according the screening of immigrants- I know many people that can not be qualified as “contributory” just because of the fact that driven by their swashbuckling nature they are more susceptible to immigrate than the well educated and judicious professionals. But it is up to your government and society- obviously your regulations are allowing more easily to such people to relocate in GB than for realistic thinking generators of additional value. It is a fact- for me it is impossible to qualify for any vacancy in GB and to pay taxes in your country nevertheless my Engineering Bachelor’s and Management Master’s degrees than for any of my unlettered relatives and fellow- citizens that have been settled themselves in your biggest cities just to live with several pounds per day. The causes are not too far to seek and the result is impending – the average GOP in GB is falling just because the immigration law is not linked with the needs of British society and economics. As you are writing in your books the direct marketing is everywhere- and should be grounded in the immigration policy too. Otherwise the British society will be just the next victim of the unregulated globalization.
