A slight change of gear for the weekend … my son’s party band. Give it time to play – and see what you think

I guess this comes either under the heading of “something entirely different” or favouritism. It’s a rough edit of a promo for a ’60’s retro band called The Word. I’m totally biased, but I think it’s pretty good, don’t you?

The perky left handed bass guitarist and vocalist is a mystery to me. I have no musical talent whatsoever, very little hair and am right handed, but he really is my son. He’s played everywhere from Moscow to Taiwan to the Casino in Monte Carlo, works a lot with The Bootleg Beatles, and he co-produced and co-wrote much of my daughter Martina’s first solo album.
Besides being a good musician he’s very funny. But don’t let that my prejudices put you off hiring the band for weddings, funerals, bah-mitzhahs etc.
