Karl Marx was a much misunderstood man whose teachings have probably been responsible for more deaths than anyone in history, but that remark of his occurred to me when I spotted the front page of The Daily Star half an hour ago
“History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce.” – Karl Marx
For overseas readers I should explain that whereas readers of Murdoch’s Sun move their lips when reading those who favour the Daily Star lick their lips when looking at the pictures. Like the Daily Express it is run by a successful pornographer. (And in case you’re wondering, yes indeed: Desmond who owns the Express was entertained in Downing Street by The Bliar or Hoots McBroon – I can’t recall which. Take my word for it, no Press Baron can be any lower than the self-righteous pricks at the top in politics.)
Anyhow, it came to pass that the big news in the Star today is that the professional trollop Jordan, aka Katie Price, claims her phone has been hacked into in order to find out details of her sex life.
This is the funniest thing since grandma caught her tits in the mangle and brought to mind Marx’s observation. Ever since she had her tits (Katie’s, not grandma’s) stuffed with kapok or whatever they use to make them bigger Jordan has made a point of telling the whole world who is or is not fucking her and for that matter who else they might have been fucking.
What a splendid piece of work she is, to be sure!
By the way, I was chatting to a man from the BBC last night and we were wondering whether the man who got bashed by Wendy Murdoch was there by design to make us feel sorry for the old scamp.
What do you think?
Best,
Drayton
Aaaah Katie Price – I'd always assumed that she was the one who was planting the stories about herself and was therefore the 'unnamed source', now it transpires that her phone may have been hacked. Almost makes you feel sorry for her, and anything that makes me feel sorry for Katie Price is not a good thing.
No-one felt sorry for John Prescott when he had eggs thrown at him. To my mind, Wendy Murdoch and John Prescott should both be in an 'Action Hall of Fame' for lightening response. Both smacks were wonderful to behold. As was Eric Cantona's drop kick as he tried to cure racism in British football.

It's really great post. Thanks for sharing it.
I agree in the main with the observations about both Jordan and Murdoch but to suggest that Marx is responsible for more deaths than anyone else in history is a gross distortion.
Unless, of course, you are only considering real people and not those of the ficticious type. I can think of one that falls in to the latter whose contribution to human suffering, misery and death far exceeds that of Marx.
But you are right but Marx's remark is highly relevant and remains farce and, indeed, continues to do so.
Russian leaders have sent more people to their deaths than anyone else. If your 'ficticious type' refers to a famous religious leader, then he sent no-one into war. Quite the contrary.
I agree, I thought that the pie thrower was there to deliberately make the old man even more pathetic than he is already putting himself across as. I think the Murdochs have a new publicity firm working for them whose job it is to make sure we all think that the people at the top are incompetent, brain dead idiots, who didn't have a clue what was going on in their own empire. Does anyone really believe this?
Deaths caused by Marxism: let's think of a few names, shall we? Mao (number one prize); Stalin (runner up); Pol Pot (Special award)
I don’t really know if this has to do with anything… but does anyone else believe that if a tragedy is so bad it keeps on repeating itself? I’ve always thought this.. am I the only one?
Didn’t someone say that history repeats itself, first as tragedy, then as farce?
Looking at the last 100 years, maybe. From The Tsar to Lenin to Stalin to Mao to Pol Pot
