Corporate twaddle – or mystical moonshine? Which email do you prefer?

One trots out jargon-esque tripe. The other is away with the fairies. Why don’t these people learn a little about writing before they abuse the ionosphere?

You’ll find a free video at the end of this. I learned a lot from just preparing it. You may profit equally from watching it

I apologise in advance for laughing while I was making it.

But first …

Sometimes I read something so bizarre that what’s left of my eyebrows shoots up to where my hair used to begin.

Take this, sent by a thoughtful reader.

One can but kindly enquire what planet the writer was on before suggesting a little stay in a nursing home.

But what about this?

Join Jeff Berry, Senior Director, Research and Development at LoyaltyOne, on December 3rd at 1:00 pm EST to find out how loyalty marketers can strike the right balance between global principles and local execution strategies for true long-term consumer engagement. With consumer dissatisfaction with existing loyalty program value propositions on the rise around the world, this is not a session you’ll want to miss.

What you will learn:

  • What new loyalty program models have developed over the last few years
  • What the latest engagement trends and consumer attitudes are for loyalty programs around the world
  • What you can learn from innovative loyalty providers in other markets
  • How do you win in a world of new technology and rising consumer expectations

All over the world people are taking illegal stimulates just to survive that kind of waffle.

And we know exactly where the writer lives, don’t we? He is a proud citizen of Planet Corporate, from which ordinary language is barred, and where people think a 40 word first paragraph is a good way to get people reading.

And what are the odds that the powerpoint slides in that presentation have LOTS of words and PLENTY of charts?

But I promised a free video.

It is called Why SEO is a Complete Waste of Time.

Simply click the title to download it.

It is 12 minutes long. They could be a very profitable 12 minutes for you. I certainly hope so.

Have a great rest of Black Friday. And if you’re interested, tomorrow is the final day to save £900 off EADIM 2014.

The free video is just my little way of marking  that deadline, and thanking you for reading my stuff.

  1. That first example is absolutely priceless. Just when you think the fun’s over, it ends with:

“For us it is always a pleasure to be close to you.”

Thanks for the biggest laugh I’ve had all day Mr B.

  2. About three months ago I was talking with a business owner about the internet. He wanted to know more about SEO.

I advised him to forget it; that SEO has no value. He was shocked.

Not surprising consider the numbers of SEO ‘gurus’ spouting otherwise.
