Years ago I was doing work for the Tories, whilst a friend was similarly engaged on behalf of Labour.

He told me all that interested his lot was “But what are you going to say about ME?”

I see a big future in politics for the star of the video you are about to watch.

Why do so many people mistake flatulent puffery for marketing? They are too damned idle or conceited to study. They don’t even understand the utterly basic concept of WIIFM.

  1. Sadly can’t open the video. You Tube says the link is not recognised. I wonder if the perpetrator has taken it down. Perhaps he realised the error of his ways and that it would cost him dear as he would be paying for all your readers to wonder at his folly. 🙂

      It reminds me of one of my most strongly held beliefs. People are too important to be left to HR “experts”.

      They are people.l not resources.

      I have always written all ads to get people – and interviewed them wherever possible.

      I am proud to say that many have done bloody well , too.

      The top two people at OgilvyOne in the UK started with me – as did the Vice Chairman of the Ogilvy Group in the UK.

      They have been Campaign magazine’s Direct Agency of the Year three years running – four times in the last six years.

    WTF? You’re absolutely right about the 15 seconds! What on earth is is CIPD? The only good thing I can say about this is that he has a very pleasant voice… and most probably will put me to sleep shortly.

      It’s interesting that before that he had another great job being the boss of something. Some people are just very good at getting to the top, which is not always the skill you need when running things. CIPD is the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development. They have great offices. I did training for them years ago.
